Haus Jackson was mystified by the voice that came out over his comm-unit and directed him to safety time and time again. He had no idea who the man was, but he couldn't fault his intel. Kevin had saved him more times than he could count, but who was he?

Kevin Davis had a debt to pay. He owed Haus his life and he was going to make sure that the man had the backup he needed. He might not be able to be there in person, but he had mad computer skills and he planned to use them to keep Haus alive.

When someone started to mess with Kevin, he had to wonder if it was due to the top secret intel he was sharing with Haus or if it was something more. Kidnapped and tossed into a trunk, he was terrified no one would be able to save him, not even Haus.

Book Review

A team of former Marines who are now members of a secret unit with amazing capabilities is at the center of this series, and it was high time for another one – at least as far as I am concerned. With Haus as one of the main characters and Kevin, a super clever tech-whizz, as the other, it promised to be as explosive as the previous installments. I am happy to report that there is lots of mystery, bad guys who seem to have the advantage, secrecy, betrayal, and danger. There is also a wonderful love story for two men who never thought they’d ever find someone to make a life with, and seeing some of the characters from previous books in action rounded out this tale perfectly.

Haus and Kevin have been communicating over comms for a few months, but they have never met. Kevin has his reasons for helping Haus survive, but Haus has no idea who he could be or why his intel is so accurate. “Mad computer skills” is an understatement when describing Kevin’s abilities, and it’s a good thing he is using them to help the good guys rather than the villains. One particularly bad criminal has been escaping all attempts to get him so far – but Kevin finds irrefutable evidence of what the gangster is up to next and passes it on to Haus. And that is when the sh*t begins to hit the fan. Suddenly Kevin finds himself kidnapped, and Haus is on a desperate mission to save his life.

If you like the ‘Special Operations’ series with its action-packed stories about a tight-knit group of former Marines and the men they fall in love with, if you enjoy the cleverness of computer tech stuff that makes a real contribution to catching criminals, and if you're looking for a suspenseful read with plenty of missions, tough guys fighting for what is right, a shocking kidnapping, and betrayal from several unexpected sources, then you will probably like this novella. Just keep them coming, please!
