Book Blurb

Aaron Loreto can’t lay claim to being anything as sexy as a werewolf or bearman. Once in a blue moon, he turns into a raccoon. With the predatory members of the shifter community looking down at him like he does actually spend his days rummaging through the trash, he prefers to keep his condition private.

When he meets Philip MacRory, Aaron falls head over heels. Philip is hot, sweet, and open-minded about shifters. Given his past experiences, Aaron’s still terrified to come out… until a night of passion with Philip shows that Aaron’s not the only one keeping secrets.

Book Review

I have a total soft spot for the underdog and I've seen more than my share of those (and loved them all) in this year's Dreamspinner Press Daily Dose package 'A Walk on the Wild Side'. These stories focus on shifters of all different kinds with a variety of world building and I haven't enjoyed myself like this in a long time.

In the New York City of this world, werewolves, bear shifters, and other large predator shifters are all the rage and get special treatment including designs to build them a huge facility where they can shift and enjoy being their animal without fear of reprisal from normals. Aaron thinks they're just a bunch of spoiled brats. He's a raccoon and certainly doesn't get any special treatment. Oh no. He gets looked down upon as if digging in the garbage is something he does even in his human form. *sigh* Hell, a former boyfriend told him no one would be happy waking up next to vermin. That's just rude if you ask me.

You can imagine Aaron's delight when he meets Philip at the coffee shop. Philip is working on his PhD dissertation about how shifters and gays were represented in American literature after the Darwinian revolution. This gives Aaron hope that Philip will be open to the fact that Aaron is the only raccoon shifter currently known to the medical community. Of course, Philip has a secret as well.

Truly another delightful tale.
