Book Review

As I expected, and anticipated, this second book in the ‘Sinn Island’ series is about the second of the three brothers who own the island and the club. Exclusive and exotic, the resort offers guests breakaways that go from “harmless” to “taboo”, depending on what they are looking for. After Marcus, the youngest brother, went for “Midnight”, the BDSM level, in book one, Alex, the middle guy, spends his time on “Crave” in this second installment. Definitely hot, passionate, and a little kinky, but not half as risqué as “Midnight”. Like the first book, there is some drama and tension, but mainly there are two hot men falling in love fast enough to make their heads spin.

Alex is an impulsive guy. He loves his fun, is bisexual, and has been in what he believes to be an exclusive relationship with a man for a while when that man asks to add a woman to their duo. Alex is fine with that until he gets dumped by his ex’s new girlfriend (how tasteless!).  Ready to reconsider everything, he heads for Sinn and, totally drunk after drowning his sorrows, falls into the arms of the sexy bartender he’s been ogling for almost a year—but has never done anything about because he was faithful. Nothing happens that night, but the die is cast.

Zach is a good bartender, loyal to his farmer family in Georgia, and more than a little intrigued by a man he keeps seeing around. He has no clue that man is one of the owners, and even though they start seeing each other, he doesn’t figure it out until almost the end of the story. I guess he is a little distracted by all the hot stuff they get up to at every opportunity… He has craved a relationship like this for a long time, and he falls fast, but there are some major obstacles to overcome before this can work.

It was interesting to see the BDSM-free side of this resort and to find out it can be just as hot. I loved all the descriptions of the secret passages for management, the details of some of what goes on behind the scenes, the hot security guys… The family dynamics between the three brothers that got hinted at last time are expanded, and the few hints about the oldest brother’s character and history have me very curious to find out his story. If you like exotic settings, if two hot men falling for each other at the speed of light sound interesting, and if you’re looking for a read that is entertaining, contains passionate men, and reads a little like a fairy tale, then you will probably like this novella.
