Book Blurb

When Jacob fell moving a portrait in the museum where he worked, he was worried about damaging it. He never imagined he would fall into it and wake up in another dimension. Though his day does start to improve when a sexy masked man rides to his rescue…

Gerard thought his friends Adam and Eloise would be the enchanted portrait’s only victims, but when he finds a gorgeous but bewildered young man wandering in the woods, he realizes how wrong he was. Now he has to enlist the help of a man he can’t stand to put a stop to the magic, even though he’d much rather be spending that time in the arms of the sexy man now sharing his home.

Book Review

The idea of jumping through a painting to land in anther world has always fascinated me. With some paintings so lifelike they do look like a scene you could just 'step into', it seems like a distinct possibility. Well, it s one that the author has taken and made into a story, one in which a parallel dimension and some magic are involved. Book 1 saw Eloise and Adam find happiness, and in this second book it is their friend Jacob who, literally, falls into a different world.

Jacob is an accounting student who works in a museum to make a living. He tumbles down the stairs with an old portrait one day and awakens in Melara. While he is initially confused, he seems to take his new location in stride. Not having anyone back on Earth may have to do something with it, but his attraction to his rescuer, Gerard, is the more important reason, I believe. Jacob is an adventurer at heart, and he adapts really well.

Gerard is the Melaran equivalent of Robin Hood, except he enjoys the king's support. Being a highwayman suits him and he is good at his job, the haunted house he lives in has quickly become his home, and he doesn't even realize he is lonely – until he meets Jacob. The attraction is immediate, and Gerard never looks back.

If you like tales with a supernatural / paranormal twist, if you enjoy reading about dashing gentlemen on horseback, and if you're looking for a light, entertaining read, you will probably like this book.
