Book Blurb

Brian couldn’t resist playboy executive Leland Whitacre in spite of their employer’s strict no fraternization policy. Leland isn’t just his boss, though. He’s the son of the company’s CEO. And Brian has fallen in love. Hurt by too many stolen kisses and nooners at seedy hotels, Brian finally broke off their secret affair two weeks ago. Leland isn’t ready to let Brian go and he isn’t above seducing Brian — again — to give them both what they really want for Christmas: each other.

Book Review

Short and sweet, with a great touch of humor, this story made me smile. Even though it is basically one scene, it will stay with me for a while because the main character, Brian, has such a clear and humorous voice that provides his very one-sided perspective on the situation. It is such a stereotypical one s well: office worker Brian falls for company owner's son Leland and cannot resist him. The way their big reunion is described is hilarious.

Brian is hopelessly in love with Leland, and the story starts when they are in bed together, already heavily engaged. The whole back story emerges while they proceed to make passionate love. All of Brian's hopes and fears emerge, as well as their entire previous history. Well, the key pieces of it. This is a very difficult balance to strike, but Kari Greg has done a great job at getting it just right.

Leland is so determined to make Brian his, he doesn’t hesitate to use everything at his disposal. Making Brian wait to come is a great tool for blackmail, and since Brian is very much on board with it, this makes for fun reading. Leland is upset that Brian ran, but he is also hopelessly "melted", so it all works out very well.

If you like to mix your passion with humor, if you enjoy reading very short and very hot stories, and if you enjoy a gradual reveal of back story while in the middle of some very hot bedroom action, you will probably like this shot story.
