Book Blurb

DJ Delaney has two days off, a refrigerator full of food, and a tree with a thousand lights. What he doesn't have is someone to share it with. Berg Pederson is out of the Army and out of the closet, and he's traveled clear across the country to spend the holidays with a former lover—until the guy's wife answers the door. Now he's stranded on Christmas Eve with no idea what to do next.

Then DJ comes home and finds Berg outside his duplex, looking lost. One look into pale blue eyes, and DJ is curious enough to offer the guy a warm place to wait while he calls a cab, and then, on impulse, offers to make him dinner. Berg isn't sure why the tall cop seems to be into him, but he's not going to argue. After all, it's Christmas Eve, and miracles do happen.

Book Review

This is a wonderful fairy tale-like story that could have happened at any time of the year, but the fact that these two men find each other at Christmas makes it even more magical. Not that they have an easy time of it, but on the whole, they are pretty lucky to have run into each other. And it doesn't start off at all well, but don’t give up!

Berg has left the military and has come to stay with a man he thought wanted him around as more than a friend, only to be bitterly disappointed to find the guy is married. Berg doesn’t have anywhere to go, having relied on his "friend" to take him in for a visit. The disappointment is crushing, and the need to adjust to the new situation clear, but with snow coming and no place to go, the situation doesn’t look good.

DJ is the idiot man's neighbor and takes pity on Berg. Since he is a cop, he figures he can protect himself, but taking in a stranger like that is still risky. I was glad he did it anyway, I really felt for Berg. The basic attraction gets them going, and while there is some tension initially, the men get over it quite quickly.

If you like stories about "lust at first sight", if you enjoy Christmas miracles, and if two men exploring each other's physical preferences sound interesting, give this one a try. It is definitely hot and has a promising ending.
