Sometimes the first bite is all people need before becoming so addicted that they can’t stop themselves from craving more. Even if it leads them to their own undoing.

Raised by a ruthless slaver to be one of the best assassins in the shifter world, the only one Tatum knew he could count on and trust was his twin brother. The fact that they’ve joined with a cast of Hawks hasn’t changed that, either. While their new allies might seem nice enough, Tatum found out the hard way that kind words are, more often than not, just a nice façade to hide the true ugliness underneath. So he vows to never let his guard down or let anybody close…at least until he stumbles across a certain Spider shifter. One who may be small, but has as many emotional scars as Tatum.

After being accepted informally as a part of the feline coalition, Baxley still doesn’t feel safe. He lives every day in fear that his past will come back and finish him off. The only time he is able to breathe freely is when Tatum is around. Yet Baxley knows that he can never truly love the other man, for fear of putting Tatum in danger.

Will Baxley be able to turn to Tatum? What’s more, will Tatum be willing to help? Or will Baxley lose the little bit of happiness he has in his life?

Book Review

Finally! Finally! Finally! A spider shifter! Something out of the norm and unusual. Of course I have friends on social media who will shudder and cringe but I think it's awesome and I was excited to get Baxley's story. 'When Tatum Got Bit by the Spider' is the nineteenth installment in the 'Lost Shifter' series and I am not bored yet. How could I be? Spider, hello?

It was hard to decide whether my heart ached more for Baxley or Tatum. Baxley was abused and terrorized by his own family for being a runt and Tatum was sold into slavery by his own parents. Tatum and his twin brother, Ackley, were raised to be assassins and Baxley is just lucky he made it through childhood. Watching these two abused and damaged men find love almost brought a tear to my eye. When Baxley's hive threatens to destroy HQ and all the felines and allies in it if they don't surrender Baxley, well shock is a mild term for Baxley's response when the coalition tells the Spiders to go to hell. He can't believe that the coalition is willing to fight for him and Tatum is just as stunned. These two men have never experienced love and loyalty to this degree.

I so enjoyed this addition to the series and the ending finale battle with various types of spider shifters and scorpions was insanely fun. I've said it before and I'll continue to say it, I'm looking forward to the next book in this exciting series.
