Mike Davenport was seventeen when he ran away from his home in London. He took the first coach available and ended up on the streets of Manchester as a rent boy. Maybe once he could have gone home, but after losing his best friend, Simon Marchwell, when he professed his love and suffering an assault at the hands of the first man he “dated,” Mike doubts returning to his parents will end any happier than the rest.
Christmas is nearly here, and Mike is freezing his arse off near the bus station, when a battered Ford Fiesta crawls past, not once, but three times. Mike thinks his luck is in, but when the window rolls down and he comes face to face with Simon, Mike's world changes again.
A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2014 Daily Dose package "Mended".
You can't ever go back in time and fix something you regret. But sometimes, life gives you the opportunity to clear the air and to start over. You can't get back the time that was lost, but you can move forward and make new memories. This is the story K.C. Wells has to tell in 'Waiting For You'. Two young men who each made their own choices and now, six years later, getting the opportunity to begin anew.
Mike made some bad decisions as a kid which have left him working the streets of Manchester as a rent boy. He can't go back home even though he misses his parents so much. He ran away, too afraid to tell them he was gay and that he was raped in a club one night. Mike was just so ashamed, so he ran and ended up on the streets. Now, his childhood best friend, Simon, has found him and the revelations Simon has completely shock Mike. Can he go home again? More importantly, can he finally have the love he's wanted his whole life?
I'm quite fond of this author’s work and I would've loved to see more of this tale. Mike and Simon are worth reading their love story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you, K.C.
