Carter Mason barely made it through a semester of assisting in a chemistry class because a certain student who haunts his erotic dreams. Now Owen is in his biology class and Carter doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He wants him, but a relationship could be tricky. And just when he thinks Owen wants him back, a mistaken identity leaves him in the dark with a horny virgin.

Book Review

Almost from the first, the budding relationship between Owen, the student, and Carter, the TA he is attracted to, is headed for disaster. Oh, nothing life-threatening, don’t get me wrong. But a disaster due to things that remain unsaid by Carter (not that I can blame him), leading to letting Owen think he'd been duped. Owen doesn't know this, obviously, but I did, and for two-thirds of the book I was waiting for Owen to finally realize what was going on. And when it did? The drama exploded across the pages!

Owen is a little shy, and has been focused on getting his computer sciences degree. That has kept him busy enough to forget about personal relationships. Still being a virgin doesn’t help. His best friend has offered to "help him out", but Owen is a bit of a romantic and wants to feel more than just friendship his first time. The almost insane attraction he feels toward Carte, the TA, leads him to taking another science course with him the following semester. They get to know each other better, but the one thing Carter was never honest about soon raises its ugly head and threatens to destroy what they have.

Carter has a bit of a reputation, but he couldn’t care less. Well, not until it becomes an issue between him and Owen. He is attracted to Owen from the start, but doesn’t know how to tell him. So he acts instead. Never knowing how it will come back to bite him when Owen figures it out, he decides to leave his head in the sand. Not the most mature thing to do, but understandable. And when he does come clean, it proves that he is just as vulnerable as Owen.

Both these guys think they have "I am so hurt by what you did" patented. It was interesting to watch both grow, and realize they may just have been a little hasty in deciding they were the only ones who hurt. If you like reading about men gaining emotional maturity, if you enjoy stories set in college, and if you're looking for a hot read on top if it, you may like this short book.
