Book Blurb

Christopher Morin is unlucky in love. The only male worth anything in his life is his sweet dog Frost. Christopher is devastated when, shortly after his breakup with the worst boyfriend ever, his dog vanishes without a trace.

Doyle Schilbrack was lucky at love, until his wonderful partner of many years passed away, leaving Doyle lost and lonely. The solution? He adopts a sad little abandoned dog, a dog he names Jack. Together, man and dog come back to life.

Then one day, a year later, Christopher encounters Doyle in a park—walking his dog! Now the two men are faced with a dilemma. They want to do what is best for their dog, but it will break their hearts to let him go.

But then a rambunctious white Pomeranian takes matters in his own paws. There might be a way for both men to keep the dog, and find something else that’s been missing from their lives.

A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2015 Daily Dose package "Never Too Late."

Book Review

“I found you, in the darkest hour... when I was all in need and your love pulled me back again. Found you in a river of pure emotions. I found you, my only truth. I was lost til I found you.” ~ The Wanted (I Found You)

Christopher, of 'Until I Found You' by B.G. Thomas, is discouraged after his last bad breakup. Christopher decides he is going to swear off dating for a while until he can get over his heartache, possibly even forever. He goes to the pound and adopts a little dog and names him Frost. Frost becomes his whole world, his best friend and comforter and vice versa. One can imagine how he feels when he comes home one day and Frost isn't there! Christopher looks for weeks, but there's no sign of the sweet fur baby. Christopher is heartbroken and wonders how he can go on with out Frost, but he has to. His only hope is, wherever Frost is, he is with someone who will take good care of him.

Doyle, whose husband has recently died of cancer, is feeling a similar kind of despair and loneliness to Christopher's. Most of all, the house is just too quiet without anyone else there. In an effort to ease his sadness, Doyle goes to the pound and finds a little dog who seems as sad and lost as he is. Jack responds favorably for the first time in days. Doyle adopts Jack and takes him home where they can heal from their loss together. They form a strong bond based on love and respect, but Jack still seems like he's looking for someone when they go out. One day, Doyle and Jack are taking a walk when they run into Christopher. Christopher recognizes the little dog as none other than his Frost, and is overjoyed! It's also quite apparent that Frost is loved and well taken care of for which he is grateful. Now, they have a dilemma; two men who love one little dog and want to be with him; and one little dog who is deeply devoted to both of them. When Jack is with Doyle, he pines for Christopher. Frost, is just as unhappy when he's not with Doyle. Jack Frost wants both of them, together with him, all the time, but it's not that simple from his humans' perspective. Or is it?

This is a delightful love story about two lonely men and the little dog who saves them from a life of loneliness. As this tale shows, animals, particularly dogs, have a healing ability far beyond what modern medicine or therapy can provide. This magical skill is quite aptly displayed in this short but endearing story. If you like dogs who provide excellent companionship; kind, nurturing men not afraid to show their emotions; and happy endings, you may want to read this heartwarming tale. Thanks, B.G., for reminding me of the healing power of animals, particularly those rescued from shelters.
