Book Blurb

Sparks fly – along with a good deal of dust and dirt – when a newly-minted Las Vegas lawyer meets a sexy Australian cowboy in Virginia City, Nevada.

Marcus never expected to find someone like Vic at the Virginia City Camel Races. Tall and lanky with a strong jaw, a chiseled chin, and an Australian accent to boot, Vic’s the sexiest cowboy Marcus ever met. A guy would do just about anything to impress someone like Vic. Even something totally off the wall, like riding a camel in one of the races. Nothing could possibly go wrong with that plan, right?

Also available in the Fever anthology.

Book Review

This is a hilarious story about some of the most unlikely men and events combining into what ends up as a very hot romance. First: a camel race in Virginia City, Nevada; no, not somewhere in the Middle East where I would have expected such an event. Then: an Australian cowboy named Vic, who races said camels but is also a chiropractor. Finally: a young lawyer named Marcus, who is anything but physically fit yet he gets roped into racing a camel – with disastrous results. All to please his scheming sister Susan, who is intent on having either herself or Marcus end up with a hot cowboy. She isn’t picky.

Marcus joins his sister on her bog vacation, just to do her a favor, and, well, he's a bit short of money (just having started work as a lawyer), and wants to keep her happy. Then he finds out she's entered him to race a camel, and he is horrified. The animals scare him to death, the saddle looks like there's nothing he can hold onto, and anyway, he isn’t exactly physically sure of himself. He's a lawyer! But then the sexiest cowboy he's ever seen comes along, there to help him get onto the camel, and suddenly Marcus doesn't want to look like he's scared. He gets onto the camel – and promptly and spectacularly falls off.

Vic is an Australian who came to the US to race camels and never left. He's also a chiropractor (helps with the avoiding major injuries when he falls), which helps him make a living. Camel racing on its own doesn’t get him very far. He thinks Marcus is cute and uses the fall to get closer – after which he stays right where he is so he can pursue a hot romance.

If you like stories about the improbably that are more than a little funny, if you enjoy reading about men who fall in lust at first sight, and if you're looking for a short, fun read, then you will probably like this short story.
