The weather in the Florida swamps is looking a little rocky for retired football player, Galen, his laid-back lover, Shane, and their gator, Vic.
When Galen buys into a football team, promoting and wheeling and dealing are the name of the game. He’s so busy he hardly gets to see Shane anymore, which means a lot of lonely naps on the couch.
Shane is tied up with managing the bar, covering for unreliable bartenders, and serving drinks to good-time party boys. Used to be Galen couldn’t get enough of him. Now he can hardly pry Galen away from the phone, and Shane starts to wonder where he stands in Galen’s life. Will things ever be the way they were?
When Galen starts to forget their dates, the pressure builds, jealousy and hurt swirling into a tropical storm. Galen and Shane need to seek shelter in each other before everything they’ve built is washed away.

It’s only a couple of days until the next book in this series will be published, so I figured it was high time I brought myself up to date with Galen and Shane’s lives so as to be ready for their next adventure. Galen, a former semipro football player who now owns a bait shop in Florida, and Shane who is a bartender, first met in ‘Rain and Whiskey’ - one of the hottest male/male romances ever. With matching libidos, it is pretty clear that they have a good starting point, and the first book was all about them getting to know each other, figuring out how a longer-term relationship might work, and establishing a very loving relationship.
This second book begins where the first one ended: Galen and Shane are happy together, love it up in the Florida sunshine, and add a pet alligator to their family. Yep, you read that right: they find good old Vic in their swimming pool on a Sunday afternoon and take it from there. But the peace and quiet does not last long before events make clear that the series name ‘Stormy Weather’ - is well deserved. It seems that neither Galen nor Shane can sit still and do nothing for very long, and between Galen’s bait shop, his newest venture of part-owning a football team, and Shane’s issues with unreliable bartenders, they either don’t see each other at all, or are too tired to do anything much other than sleep.
Galen and Shane face a situation any established couples have to deal with: taking each other for granted as they get involved in the professional side of their lives. They learn the hard way that relationships take more work than saying “I love you” – not that this is unimportant. Making a decision to take their personal lives as seriously as their professional one may not be easy – but with the passion that still flares between them every time they do manage to spend time together, at least it is possible.
If you liked Galen and Shane in their first adventure, if you want to see how their super-hot love life saves the day, and if you’re looking for a read full of emotional upheavals and extremely hot man-on-man activity, then you will probably like this novel as much as I do. I loved seeing more of Galen and Shane dealing with life and look forward to the next installment of this series!
