Book Review

I love it when an author does a short story, bonus book, amidst a series. 'Tofurkey and Yams' is a part of Karenna Colcroft's 'Real Werewolves Don't Eat Meat' series, and is a little glimpse into holiday time with my guys, Kyle and Tobias.

Kyle isn't all that big on holidays, except Christmas. So he spends a week getting all the decorating done in his apartment, but when he shows it off to Tobias, his mate is less than thrilled. In fact, Tobias is a giant a$@hole about it, insulting Kyle and informing him that he doesn't care about Christmas and if Kyle wants to spend time with him, then he'll need to come to Tobias's, because Tobias won't stay at Kyle's with all that Christmas cheer. Huh. Kyle goes back to Tobias's in hopes of figuring out what went wrong, but that blows up in his face and he's left more confused than ever.

Tobias heads out of the city to their spot an hour north where the pack goes every full moon to hunt, telling Kyle he'll be back the next day. When Kyle finds out, on Christmas Eve, that Tobias isn't planning on returning until the day after Christmas, Kyle borrows a car and heads to find his mate. He'll be damned if he has to spend Christmas without his mate.

A very sweet addition to the series, this gave me more background on things that Tobias suffered, and really helped Kyle to understand his mate better. Plus, Tobias got the best of gift of all when Kyle agreed, finally, to move in with him!
