Book Blurb

When looking for someone to help heal his broken heart, Wilson Curtis never dreamed he'd find two someones. Love isn't always conventional.

After being publicly outed and his restaurant business in tatters, instead of vacationing with his lover, Wilson Curtis goes to Key West alone where he meets Simon and Adam. Fascinated by this couple, he strikes up conversation and is soon invited into their bed for some holiday fun.

But once isn't enough, and the offer is extended for the remainder of his stay. As they get to know each other, in and out of the bedroom, sparks fly and ten days is all it takes to change their lives.

When it comes time for Wil to leave, with outside tensions closing in and time running out, tempers flare and emotions fray. Beneath the misunderstandings and lack of communication is the realisation these three men aren't ready to say goodbye.

Book Review

It's not a major secret that three-way relationships are difficult. In fact, they are usually called love triangles and involve lots of jealousy, heartbreak, and no happy endings. A variation is the temporary threesome, entered into for fun and variety, and even that carries enough risks for most people to stay away.

Wil, a successful chef in Alabama, has just had a catastrophic breakup and needs some downtime. He'd planned to go to Florida with his lover, but instead ends up going alone. Meeting two gorgeous men who are interested in him is just what he needs and, though shy, he is ready for some physical relief. The problems start when he thinks there may be more – and feels like he's breaking up a couple. His thoughts and feelings are very real, but they are also tinged by what society has taught him is acceptable – which is based on what seems to work for most people: coupledom. His struggle with those preconceptions versus his own, very real feelings, was fascinating.

Simon and Adam are very much in love, and when they find they're both attracted to Wil, they act on their lustful feelings. It is a good thing they talk to each other, because the situation has the potential to develop into a real catastrophe for all of them. I loved watching the different roles they played in the developing and evolving situation with Wil, and both are great guys in their own right. Just fairly different.

In fact, I think that is one of the strengths of this book. It shows how different personalities can work together very effectively if there is the required underlying love and trust. It also shows why some couples might work better as permanent threesomes: if each partner has something unique to contribute, the triangle is in balance. In fact, in this case, it is almost as if Adam and Simon needed a third partner to unfold the full potential of their love. Very well designed and written believably by N.R. Walker.

If you like reading about threesomes that are about more than "just some fun" in the bedroom, and work in the real world as well, if you enjoy stories about characters who find their way in complicated relationships, and if you're looking for a thoughtfully written book in a gorgeous holiday setting, then you will probably like this short novel.
