Book Blurb

Ron has his ideal submissive in Declan, a feisty blond who challenges him in all the best ways. In Ron, Declan has found a Master he can serve. When Ron suggests they bring a third person into their bedroom to play, Declan has just the person in mind…

Christopher, Declan's former Dominant, is a close friend of them both and searching for a partner of his own. When Declan invites him to join them, Christopher is more than happy to oblige. But the presence of a third man in Ron and Declan's bedroom affects their relationship in unforeseen ways. Will Christopher be simply a play partner, or is there room for something more between the three of them?

Book Review

This is what I would call an interesting experiment in writing a BDSM story differently, with the additional element of two men in love incorporating a third into their play. It sounds more complicated than it actually was, since each step is taken slowly and only after discussion. In fact, this is one of the things that made the story different: Declan, the sub, and Ron, his Master, are very much in love, and a well-established couple. While they like kinky play, the D/s element is very weak, and I felt as if that was also something they played with. There is no harshness in Ron's demands, and Declan has as much a say in what happens (other than when he is being teased) as Ron did. The result is a "soft BDSM story" where everything is clearly consensual. This might be good for beginners, or those who do not like even a hint of dubious consent.

Declan may be a bratty sub, but he also likes, loves, and adores his Master. Testing his limits occasionally is as much part of the play as being obedient – when it suits him. That certainly keeps Ron on his toes, and since both men like to keep things exciting, they are a good fit for each other. Declan is hesitant about bringing in a third – he values his relationship with Ron and doesn’t want to endanger what they have. He is interested in the idea though, and in the end, he is the one who suggests Chris, his first Dom.

Ron is deeply in love with Declan and can be very possessive, but he also enjoys showing off his sub. These two sides war within him, but he is curious enough to suggest giving it a try. The chemistry between all three is so good, that he very quickly reaches a level of trust that allows him to submit to Chris and, since he is a switch, that gives Ron an unexpected additional benefit to their arrangement.

Chris remains a bit of an unknown, since we don’t get to see his POV. It was clear to me that he still has feelings for Declan, but neither of them was ready to move on before. Now that they have a potentially stable triad, this may change. Chris is a nice guy, and not a "harsh" Dom either, so he is a good fit for Declan and Ron.

If you like kinky stories and the feel of BDSM without the "harshness", if you enjoy threesomes that evolve into more, and if you like your characters to be passionate and loving as well as very hot, then you will probably like this book.
