Sean Hutchins is having the worst day of his life…
After losing what he thought was his dream job, Sean Hutchins walks away to suddenly find not only his professional life, but also his personal life, falling apart. Seeking comfort in his best friend, Cassie, the last person Sean expects to run into is Cassie’s big brother—and Sean’s long-time crush—Cal.
Cal is supposed to be on vacation visiting his baby sister, not babysitting her and her best friend, Sean. And he definitely is not supposed to be staring at Sean’s hot ass. But after spending some time with the guy, Cal finds himself with confusing feelings.
Should Cal act on his attraction? And can Sean find a way to put back together the broken pieces of his heart and his life?
This little tidbit of a story was exactly what I needed. Having been Sean's age once, many years ago, I'd been in the HR department being told management was restructuring, I was the last one hired, yadda, yadda, yadda, while in my head I was wondering how I can pay my bills and not wanting to call my parents. I could totally empathize with Sean on that scenario. Unfortunately, I also could empathize when he got home to find his roommate/friends with benefits/possible boyfriend, having porn sex with three other people in their bed. I didn't blame Sean for turning around and heading to his best friend Cassie's for some TLC.
Cassie's older brother, Cal, is in town to visit from New York. Cal has always been aloof with Sean, mainly because Sean is Cal's type to a T. Sean, on the other hand, has always had a huge crush on Cal, but with the way he acted, Sean figured Cal just thought of him as his little sister's annoying best friend. Oh, how a really bad day can change and become the best day of your life, just when you need it the most.
There is just something about a sweet, very hot short story that throws in hero worship and insta-lust that moves into caring, which makes me very happy. As I said, it was exactly what I needed. A little drama, a lot of steaminess, and a great happy ever after. I can definitely recommend it.
