When an uncle he had never heard of died and named him the sole benefactor of his will, Caleb Todd set off for the small town of Dark Hollow. Learning about his family’s past, and the legend that surrounded them, Caleb soon finds himself drawn into a mystery that gets weirder and weirder the deeper it goes.

Henry Allan, sheriff of Dark Hollow, has a secret of his own—he’s a werewolf. In a town that’s obsessed with the occult and its own dark history, he has managed to find the peace and quiet he was searching for, that is until Caleb Todd drives into town, and straight into Henry’s car.

The attraction is instant for Henry as both the man and the wolf agree Caleb should be his. They just have to deal with a possible murder, a vengeful spirit, and the fact that Caleb thinks he’s straight.

Book Review

Everyone has heard the fairy tales about witches when they were younger. We have all seen the sci-fi shows with werewolves. But what happens when in real life, a witch and a werewolf meet? Is it possible for two very unlikely matches actually to find love with each other? What if that werewolf is a sheriff and the witch does not even know that he is one until the death of an uncle occurs that he did not even know existed until he was named in his will? All of this and so much more is in this book.

Henry is the sheriff in Dark Hallow. For the most part it is a quiet town where he finds himself breaking up disputes such as a neighbor taking the trash to the curb the night before when it is supposed to be in the morning or tracking down where someone’s missing newspaper has gotten off to. Not much crime happens in Dark Hallow, but the town is full of tales of past witches and the death of the most well-known witch of their town, Sarah Todd. Henry loves Dark Hallow. He loves that he has the open space to run in his werewolf form, but also enough space to be able to hide this part of himself from others as well.

When Clyde Todd passed away, it looked like a cut and dry suicide. When a stranger shows up in town named Caleb Todd, Henry is the first to meet him. The meeting is very unconventional to say the least because it involves Caleb running into Henry… literally. He runs right into the back of Henry’s police vehicle.

Caleb is mortified that he hit the sheriff’s vehicle but he is more worried about his best friend and his dog Frost being okay. Caleb has had a crazy few days with finding out he had an uncle he never knew about. Finding out that said uncle passed away and left his belongings to him. Now running into the sheriff’s vehicle, well it is not over yet. Poor Caleb has a lot more crazy in his near future. From finding out that his family has a past linked to being witches to finding out that Henry is a werewolf to learning his uncle may have been murdered instead of having committed suicide. Then throw in the fact that after meeting Henry and having an instant attraction to him when he has always thought himself to be straight, well Caleb is in for a rough ride.

The question is, how will he handle everything coming his way? Will he choose to just pack up and leave to go back home? Or will he stay and figure out not only what is happening between him and Henry but also who or what is behind his uncle’s death?

This was a great read. I enjoyed every moment of it. Henry and Caleb are an awesome couple who complement each other. I really enjoyed this read and believe others will as well.
