Book Review

It has been too long since I visited the 'Lost Shifters'. These are favorite go-to books when I need an easy, fun, exciting, and hot read. It's hard for me to believe I'm at book twenty-eight already. I've been looking forward to Gregg's story because he's been in so many of the previous installments. And, of course, I always want my guys to find their mate and get their happy ever after. Well, that, and I've always got my eyes peeled for a little more snark from Shane. *grins*

Gregg is a hawk shifter who shares an apartment at the coalition with his younger sister, Tiffany, and his alcoholic father. Now, everyone in the coalition knows his dad's an alcoholic. What they don't know is the horrific level of verbal, mental, and emotional abuse he rains down on Gregg. And Gregg isn't telling. If he told Daniel, the hawk leader, they would kick his dad out. All well and good except his dad is the legal guardian for Tiffany and he'd take her with him, just to hurt Gregg.

John is a lion shifter who had no idea what he was until four years ago when he shifted for the first time. Since then he's kept it a secret and since the big reveal when humans realized shifters were, in fact, real, John has definitely kept it secret. Until he gets knocked unconscious during a training exercise and shifts into his lion. Luckily for John, they take him to the feline coalition where Mitchell welcomes him to the family and assigns Gregg as his mentor.

Gregg and John are a perfect fit. When John discovers Gregg's secret, he steps up and helps Gregg get it taken care of while helping him to protect Tiffany. A really good addition to the series as, once again, this book was more about the characters and getting to know them, rather than just a sex-fest. Not that I have a problem with sex, this is just a refreshing change of pace. Now, I'm once again, looking forward to the next book.
