Book Blurb

Devastated when her lover dies from an error made during a simple operation, Cadin Michaels vows to make the guilty pay for their deadly error. She uses the settlement won to create a foundation in her lover’s name to help women and children. When that does nothing to ease her grief, she is encouraged to take a sabbatical, to try and find herself again.

Cadin mounts her motorcycle, and lets fate, and a dart, lead her on her journey. She encounters people on her adventures that rekindle her belief in kindness, and unconditional love. Realizing she too needs a fresh start, Cadin finds herself drawn to the chemistry she feels for Renee, a woman she encounters in Alabama. The outpouring of love and friendship helps her on her path to healing and learning to trust her heart to love once again.

Book Review

This story is exquisitely heartwarming. Beginning with a tragedy, then cycling through two somewhat interconnected segments, a lost and lonely woman initially looking for revenge experiences a remarkable catharsis. As she orchestrates her assistance to the women she meets, her nearly devastating bereavement is reversed, leaving an indelible and life-saving mark on total strangers who become closer than family. Courageously cleansing!

Cadin Michaels is a lawyer and apparently quite good at her job. She suffers the loss of her partner through a fairly obvious medical error. In turn, she orchestrates relief from this painful bereavement by the establishment of a charitable foundation that will come to the aid of all manner of women, giving them a leg up or a friendly hand to turn possible ruination into extraordinary opportunity. Calamitous reversals become astounding chances healing broken lives including her own. In turn, I felt cleansed and reconstructed as I witnessed several beautiful rebirths manifest before my eyes and soul. Awesome!

Cadin's first stop is in Greensboro, Alabama, which was remarkably determined by throwing a dart at a map. She encounters a woman and her daughter plus a widow who was callously evicted from her home. At her second stop in Bogalusa, Louisiana, which Cadin also selected by dart tossing, she meets the owner of a diner serving really great food, the owner's daughter, and a fairly young woman who has been walking and hitchhiking all by herself. In both instances, the women Cadin meet need rather heavy-duty support to change their fates by taking control of their destinies. Cadin just leaps right in and helps all these woman in both locations by providing comfort and then some. Cadin is just incredible! The women in need, including the one child, are so open to Cadin's sponsorship while nevertheless being awestruck by her generosity. What a simply wondrous and sublimely uplifting reading experience. A pure winner!

With warmth and joy in my heart, I recommend this book. There certainly are some intense wrenching elements, but by and large it is the most elevating, poignantly gratifying book I have had the pleasure to read. I suggest you not miss this as it certainly is a rare gem. Par excellence!
