The time of Anubis is at hand. Working together against him, the goddess Sirius and the god Orion have helped mankind prepare by uniting Blaze, Conner, Darric, and Aden to fight the evil in the world. But in the war to come, the werewolves will need more allies, and this will extend beyond werewolf kind.

Marcus, an ex-Marine who’d lost both his legs in a landmine accident, is now Human Liaison Officer for Blaze's pack. Having lost his lover too when the man couldn’t bear to live with "a cripple", Marcus never expected that he'd fall in love again, let alone with the werewolf Kellan who seemed to be universally hated by the pack.

The Winter Circle is moving, and a psychopathic pastor has abducted Nate, one of the wolves from Hunter's pack. For once the wolves cannot rescue him — it has to be a human — and now Marcus must save the wolves from their biggest threat: one of their own.

If Marcus succeeds, he will bring in a new era in mankind’s battle against the power of evil, starting with a simple promise and ultimately mending four broken hearts.

First Edition published by Dark Hollows Press, January 2016.

Book Review

It has been a whirlwind, roller coaster ride, reading the first three installments in the 'Sirius Wolves' series. 'The Promise', book four, was still set in and among the Supreme Alpha triad, but focused more on Marcus, Kellan, Ricoh, Hunter, and Nate. I was very happy about this, because I had been longing for resolution for these men for quite a while.

It goes without saying that the author doesn't make it easy for any of these men. Marcus is human, a former Marine, who lost two legs to an IED explosion, and has recently been named Lupine Liaison Officer due to his already close relationship with the wolves. Kellan is a member of Aden's old pack, and he was fed enough of the lies that he didn't stop the abuse against Aden. Then there is Michael, the traitor, who blackmailed Kellan into helping when Michael captured Blaze, Conner, and Aden. The majority of the wolves hold Kellan in disgust and will have nothing to do with him, regardless that none of these things were his fault. Now Blaze has assigned Kellan to be Marcus's assistant with integrating wolves and humans. Unbeknownst to Marcus, Kellan is his mate.

Hunter is alpha of the Jefferson pack, the closest pack in proximity to Orion's Circle, and it is over two thousand wolves strong. Ricoh has some empathic powers, but also has visions that show him horrible things. Nate is the young man who killed Darric, who had been abused and manipulated. The best part? Hunter and Ricoh are mates, Ricoh thinks. Ricoh and Nate are mates, he knows. Hunter and Nate despise each other. Oh, and currently Nate is being held, tortured, and brainwashed by an insane doctor with ties to a Christian fundamentalist preacher, but they're both being used by the wolf in charge of The Winter Circle. See what I mean? This author doesn't make it easy to get to happy ever after. Especially when even weirder things are happening between Marcus, Ricoh, and Kellan.

“Do you promise?”
Marcus stared. Promise?
“The pack is offering itself, Alpha. Do you promise to take care of us? Do you promise that everything you said was true?”
Marcus felt a hand touch his, and stared into Nate’s eyes, then glanced at Kellan. They were both looking at him with the same trusting expression. It was true. He would take care of them to his dying breath. His gaze narrowed on Ricoh. “I promise.”

Oh. My. Word. Yes, I guessed again who the bad wolf was - thanks to the god, Anubis - but I never predicted the ending!! This author continues to blow me away, and I was thrilled to see Marcus, Nate, Kellan, and Ricoh mated. There will be work needed to help Nate work through his brainwashing, and The Winter Circle is still out there, but I can't wait for another installment.
