Dressing up as Robin, the Boy Wonder, for this year's GLBT 'pairs party', Ricky is on the hunt for his very own Batman. This is his fourth, and last, year attending the party, though, and he's worried he's going to come home alone again this year, just like he has every year. Is there a Batman out there just for him?

Book Review

Very cute, sweet, and romantic story about Ricky, a student who is looking for his Mr. Right. Not only that, he has dreamed of meeting him in a specific place, at a specific time: the annual pairs party at the GLBT student club. He dresses up as Robin, and hopes to meet his Batman. As romantic as this sounds, in real life it would surely end in disaster. It's a good thing this is fiction!

I really liked Ricky. He's been going o the student party for four years, never met anyone, but doesn’t give up hope. Naïve? Probably. Unrealistic? Definitely. Romantic? Oh yes. The desperation and depression that sets in when there isn’t a single Batman in sight is palpable and had me really feeling for Ricky. And when he does meet a Batman in a somewhat unexpected place? I cheered him along!

If you like sweet short stories with more than a touch of the romantic, if you can disregard reality for the sake of a happy ending, and if you think every Robin deserves his Batman, you will probably like this story as much as I did.
