Book Blurb

Marcus has just become the only human ever to be Alpha of a werewolf pack and thwarted the plans of Anubis to destroy the goddess Sirius' creation – the werewolves.

Now, Anubis has decided to focus his efforts instead on Marcus and his new pack, to try and destroy the pack from within. In order to do this, Anubis seeks the one thing Marcus wants above all else and when he finds it, will use that to get him to walk away from his mates and the pack.

Unaware of the evil god's plans, Marcus works together with Kellan and Ricoh, not only trying to help Nate recover from the vicious torture he has undergone at the hands of the terrorist group, The Winter Circle, but to also come to terms with leading a pack of over two thousand wolves.

Marcus soon will be faced with a dilemma, but will he give everything up for his mates and the pack or will the temptation Anubis offers him be too much for one human to refuse? Will Marcus put his wolves before himself or will he be tricked into leaving them behind forever?

Book Review

I have been on pins and needles since the end of book four where Marcus became the alpha and leader of the largest werewolf pack in the US, and he mated with Kellan, Ricoh, and Nate. Marcus is human, a former Marine, and a double amputee. Not, of course, that any of that makes him less or not capable. In fact, I think it makes him more able because he understands loyalty, duty, commitment, family, and love. 'The Dilemma' is book five in Victoria Sue's amazing 'Sirius Wolves' series, and I'm really hoping this isn't the finale.

Nate is in worse shape than any of them realized. After his torture and brainwashing by The Winter Circle, Nate truly believes his wolf is to blame for everything and he wants them to take it out. It's so sad watching them try to figure out the best way to help him without traumatizing Nate any further. Ricoh doesn't really know where he stands with Marcus, and it's making him feel insecure and he’s second-guessing himself. Kellan is just trying to forgive himself for past mistakes and let his mates know he's there for them. And Marcus is feeling his way through the minefield of being an alpha and trying to help everyone.

It wasn't a big stretch of the imagination to realize that Anubis was going to try to use Marcus's desire to be normal, to not be handicapped, as the tool for using him to take down Sirius, Orion, and the Supreme Alphas, along with all of the werewolves. The lure of being granted robotic legs must be huge, and I couldn't begin to understand how Marcus felt. The fact that he would have to leave the country for six months for the operation and rehab seemed impossible.

At the end of the day, Marcus was fooling himself. Nate healing had just taken away his reason for being here, and he was very much afraid none of them needed him now.

I wasn't surprised to see The Winter Circle continue their efforts, which apparently included at least one more traitor within the pack. Nate seems to have gained some abilities, somehow, and everyone is working on figuring those out. The increase in hybrids seems to be bringing many changes to the pack, and I'm loving it. I adored the spin the author put on the ending, and it just reconfirmed my opinion of Marcus as a total alpha, werewolf or not. Plus, Anubis didn't get the win he was so sure he'd get, and that made me very happy.

I was thrilled with the outcome of this book, and I really hope the author spends more time in book six on the hybrids. It looks like Anubis isn't going to give up, which might mean a return of Orion and Sirius. 'The Dilemma' was sweet, loving, and exciting - everything I've come to expect from these books.
