Book Blurb

The public library's computer geek, aka Travis, is content skirting the edges of social interaction. He's fully committed to being a boring, twenty-something IT guy who likes his office more than people, a guy someone like Connor would never fall for. Connor, who works on the library floor as a page, is outgoing, social, and charming and everything else that stands for "fun."

An interaction between the two at the library on Christmas Eve has Travis accidentally mentioning that he failed to find this year's hottest toy for his nephew. Immediately, Connor goes on a quick hunt online, and finds one. The only problem is that the Craigslist seller is hours away and Travis is sure spending hours in a car with quirky, handsome Connor can only end badly.

Book Review

Are you ready for some pre-Christmas hilarity of the first order? Because if you expect a sinister mystery starring the Craigslist Killer (capitalized for emphasis), you will be sorely disappointed. If you intend to read this story, make sure you are not drinking any liquids so as not to damage your reading device when you squirt said liquid all over the place. Oh, and if you read this in public – get ready for some surprised looks as you laugh your way through this tale. It starts harmless enough – with Travis who is a card-carrying computer geek working at a library and bemoaning his lack of people skills – but it quickly becomes obvious that a quiet time is not in his cards as soon as coworker Connor decides to get to know him better.

Travis has always stood on the sidelines of social events and he likes it that way. People are not really “his thing” and since he is an introvert, he is perfectly happy that way, now that he has found his niche. Things weren’t always easy for him growing up, which is why he is determined to get his introverted nephew this year’s hottest toy – so the guy can be just a little popular for a little while. Doesn’t that just make you go awww?

Connor is sociable, outgoing, and everyone asks him for advice. He is exactly the kind of guy who would never fall for Travis – based on Travis’s past experience with a sh*tty boyfriend. So when Connor starts making advances, possibly flirt (Travis is not too sure he got that right), and says he has found someone who will sell them the toy – Travis is flabbergasted. He decides to follow Connor’s lead, and is in for the adventure of his life.

If you are curious about who this Craigslist Killer is and ready to follow Travis and Connor’s lead to find out, if a pre-Christmas story with lots of humor and plenty of Christmas magic is your thing, and if you’re looking for a read with lots of heart, a cute beginning to what could be an epic romance, and enough humor for an entire novel, then you will probably like this short story as much as I do. It’s as hilarious as it is cute!
