For a lonely Cornish lifeboatman and an author who’s more used to crime scenes than love scenes, this Christmas is going to be very merry indeed!

When Jago Treherne agrees to man the Polneath lifeboats one snowy Christmas, he knows he can forget turkey and all the trimmings.

Yet when he boards a seemingly empty yacht and stumbles upon sexy Sam Coryton enjoying an energetic afternoon below decks, Jago soon realizes that he might be unwrapping a very different sort of Christmas gift this year!

Book Review

"Don't let your fear of your past relationship affect the outlook of your future... Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away.” ~ Davison

With no one to spend Christmas with, Jago Treherne, of ‘The Captain’s Cornish Christmas’ by Catherine Curson and Eleanor Harkstead, volunteers to be on duty so the other men can spend time with their families. With wary eyes, Jago watches the sea and the weather. He senses a storm coming and is on high alert for anyone who might be foolish enough to be out in the water, when he notices that the yacht of an old friend and now famous author, Sam Coryton, has not returned to port. There has been no distress call, and Jago is concerned enough to sail out to check on Sam.

Jago finds Sam’s yacht anchored, but there is no sign of Sam. He boards and begins searching for him, imagining all kinds of calamities that may have taken place; he finally finds Sam safely in his bed, pleasuring himself. Sam is perturbed by the interruption, but touched by Jago’s concern for his safety. He invites Jago to have a pint with him at the local pub. Jago can’t imagine why Sam, as popular as he is, would want to spend time with him, but he accepts. Sam asks about his plans for Christmas and Jago tells him he’s spending it with his cat. Right then and there, Sam decides he’s going to surprise Jago with the best Christmas he’s ever had, hopefully not just this year, but for many Christmases to come.

This is a delightful Christmas story, with endearing characters who, after putting their preconceived notions aside, find that they are made for each other. Thanks, Catherine and Eleanor, for an endearing story with a happy ending.
