All I hoped for was a quiet life teaching in a small town…
But the first few days spent in a motel left me feeling ungrounded, and the assignment to teach omega studies had me considering running back to the big city for fear of letting a bunch of kids down. Could I do justice to the subject?
Then Principal Armison walked into my classroom, offered to rent me the apartment above his garage, and, while he offered to be no more than my principal and my landlord, I hoped this alpha would also see we were destined to be mates. Because I knew we were with every fiber of my being.
But this principal was far more than just an academic. When he left school every day he donned leathers and hopped on his motorcycle to ride to Principal Ink…his tattoo shop, barber shop, and biker social club.
I was starting to feel like I was in over my head, but in such a good way. He was all my fantasies rolled into one. And with every day we spent together, I saw more of why he’d make such a great partner in life and, sooner than I ever dreamed, father of the child I was carrying.
All the stories in this series have been sweet, but this one is extra cute. Maybe it’s the contrast between Ranger’s perfectly respectable exterior as a small-town principal and his deeper bad-boy instincts that make for great entertainment. Or maybe it is watching newly-arrived social studies teacher Henry being driven to distraction in the best way possible. Either way, how these two men get to know each other, fall into bed, and figure out their lives once they have sort-of clear heads again had me smiling all the way.
Henry has had a tough breakup and wants nothing more than to start anew – so he takes pretty much the first position he can get. Luckily it turns out that Fate had a hand in the decision, or so it seems, when he encounters his fantasy man: none other than the principal of his new school. Henry is too busy getting used to his new class and too shy to believe he has a chance… but once he understands exactly how interested Ranger is in him? There is nothing stopping Henry from jumping into a relationship without looking back.
Ranger may dress and look like a respectable principal (and he is), but he has a second job as a tattooist in a shop he owns and he rides a motorcycle. Very cool! He is attracted to the new omega in town from the very start and, being an alpha, he takes charge. Offering Henry a place to stay in the apartment above his garage is just step one. The more he finds out about Henry, and vice versa, the clearer it becomes that these men are made for each other.
If you like your romances fast, sweet, and with consequences of the baby kind, if teachers and principals are your thing, and if you’re looking for a lighthearted read with lots of cuteness, then you will probably like this novella.
