Book Blurb

Morgan Hawke is happy with the status of his relationship with Dan Blake. After three years, though, Dan's ready to move their relationship to the next level.

Having seen his brothers find love and settle into family life, Dan Blake has realized he's ready for change. The only problem with that is that his lover prefers to maintain the status quo. Dan's up for the challenge of changing Morgan's mind. He's got plans, and he's used to working behind the scenes to get his way.

Morgan can't understand the changes he sees in Dan. They've come a long way from the office of the bar where they met, but he's not sure he's ready to move their relationship from the shadows to the front pages. Publicity is okay for Dan—he's got the weight of the Blakes behind him—but the Morgan isn't sure he's ready to let go of the past he's been clinging to.

Can Dan manipulate a happy ending for this script?

Book Review

Ahhhh, book four in the series brings me to brother Dan, who has obviously been hiding quite a secret from his brothers and now it's time to let it out. Maybe not all of his brothers since Brandon is pretty observant in his über control freak way. Turns out Dan has been seeing someone on the side for three years now. Oh, it started as a purely sex thing, but in the last year Dan didn't want to be with anyone but Morgan. Unfortunately, Morgan is an actor and he definitely doesn't want his public to know about this "friendship". Morgan is married, too, although he and his wife are only best friends, he made promises to her that he can't see himself breaking.

But when Brandon dares Dan to bring the person he's been seeing to his wedding, Dan is put in a position where he's not sure what to do. He wants to stand up and recognize his love affair with Morgan, but he also knows that terrifies Morgan and Dan doesn't want to hurt him. Dan's own insecurities play a part also as he's still not sure if Morgan is with him because he wants to be, or because of what Dan can do for his career. I've seen some men do some pretty stupid miscommunication in romances, but Dan and Morgan take the cake. Dan is so hung up on outthinking the situation and trying to manipulate it for his own good, he doesn't recognize that Morgan can truly be intimidated by Dan. Morgan gets scared and angry and doesn't say what he really wants to for fear of completely losing Dan. Oy vey, the angst and the pride! Men. Pfft.

This was a wonderful addition to the series and I enjoyed these characters and their story very much. There was more angst and drama here, and I wasn't always sure I liked Dan, but in the end, I knew I liked Dan and Morgan together. They deserved their happy ever after and I'm sure glad they got it. Thank you, Lee, for another good tale.
