Newly out of the army, and out of the closet, Paul finds himself at the local gay pride parade. Imagine his surprise when he discovers he knows one of the men walking with the military float. Paul and Dev attended Basic Training together years ago when they were both in the closet. Now that they’ve found out that they’ve got being gay in common, can they discover what else they both like?

'Taking Pride' is an excellent title for this very short, very hot, and highly entertaining story about two ex-Army guys who run into each other at a Pride parade. The two men's reactions run from surprised shock to delighted let's hook up and right into passionate want to do that again.
Paul, who now wears a beard and lets his hair grow a little "just because he can", tells the story. He may be out, but the idea of publicly acknowledging he is gay scares and excites him in equal measure. One of the guys on the DADT float looks awfully familiar and when they talk they realize they were in basic training together. Paul is all for taking their meeting to Dev's house. What ensues is some super hot reconnection action with as much laughter as passionate lovemaking.
If you enjoy stories about ex-military men who are now free to explore their, ahem, preferences, if you like reading about chance encounter/reunions that turn into a lot more, and if you're looking for an entertaining, hot read, then you will probably like this short story.
