Book Blurb

As teenagers, Joshua and Ian thought they were inseparable -- until Josh’s family sent him off to military school. After years apart, the pair are reunited at last, but things quickly spiral out of control as both men struggle with their feelings towards one another and Joshua's PTSD.

Book Review

This is a very sweet story about two men who are separated by a malicious teacher's accusation when they are kids. Joshua's father exacerbates the situation and send Joshua to a military academy. The emotional depression that follows for both boys after losing their best friend, for that is all they were to each other at that point, is devastating.

While the separation is only described, not really in great detail, I suffered with the two boys as they tried to master their lives alone and grew into men. They both sort of managed, but it was very clear something – or rather someone - was missing for each of them. Thank God for second chances! When they meet again their reactions are realistically surprised, even shocked. I liked the way they dealt with the situation, and would love to find out more about them in a sequel!

If you like stories about second chances, if you enjoy reading about best friends who become more, and if you're looking for a short, soulful book, give this one a try.
