The peaceful respite for which Zeus and his intended, Dargon and Alpha, had been hoping for is shattered when Zeus is unexpectedly drawn to the Waters of Poseidon and told that the safety they've been promised is a trap.

But the Fal'Amoric aren't the only important cargo on the Oethra 7, and countless others are depending on the success of their mission. If Zeus hopes to break the silent siege on Valespia and protect those most precious to him, he will need not just powerful allies but the fortitude to survive overwhelming odds.

Book Review

‘Striker’ is the second adventure of the “Alpha Trine”, a triad between Mar’Sani Zeus, Dar Massaga Dargon, and the mysterious symbiote Alpha. The fantastic world building deepens, the plot tension increases, and the main characters get closer than ever before. But there are also some unexpected revelations, a growing alien threat, and galacto-political machinations and implications that have far-reaching consequences. This is an action-packed space adventure from page one and the intensity of the love story between the three main characters only increases. The result is a thrilling science fiction novel that held me enthralled from beginning to end, and even though it could stand alone, I recommend you read ‘Alpha Trine’ first to increase your enjoyment of this sequel.

Zeus has come a long way since he was found as the only survivor aboard a spaceship adrift in Mar'Sani space, adopted by the royal family, and fled his homeworld to prove he isn’t weak and unable to survive on his own. He has bonded with Dargon and Alpha with somewhat unforeseen consequences, but when their enemies step up their attack on galactic peace, Zeus jumps right into the middle of the fray to ensure everyone’s safety. He makes some interesting discoveries about his biological family, the attitude of some of the Mar’Sani people, and galactic history – all of which have implications for the kind of future he wants to help create.

Dargon supports Zeus as much as he can, but he has his own drastically changed situation to deal with. He and Alpha are more than competent to handle it, but it was fun to watch the mini-power struggles between the two of them and Zeus as to who could be more protective. There is no question all three of them need to work together if they want to break the blockade on Valespia and stop the galaxy from being overrun by an ancient enemy, and it was a very close call more than once!

Like the first book, this sequel (which is much longer) took my breath away. I loved discovering all of the historical details, the cultural differences between all the alien species, and finally finding out why humans are so despised.  If you like detailed visions of the future with frightening machinations on a galactic scale, if you enjoy stories where the alien cultures, as alien as they are, seem more humane than the one prevalent on Earth, and if you're looking for an exciting read that is impossible to forget, then you will probably like this novel as much as I did. I think it is stunning, and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
