Níximon Aeglos is a thief, and he makes no apologies for it. He has done what he has had to do to survive. When he spots a handsome warrior walking through the marketplace, he sees an easy mark and a purse full of coin.

Stealing from the Captain of the Royal Guard of the House of Elvellon was never in his plans—but revenge is. When Mael takes without asking, Níx decides to teach the man a lesson. When it backfires on him, Níx can't decide whether to protest or ask for more.

Maelon Hatholor is proud to be an elite solider in the king's royal guard. He is even more proud of his restraint when a sexy, little thief tries to rob him. When Níx comes back for more, Mael is all too willing to give him what he wants...over and over again.

When soldiers come for Mael, it's up to Níx to use the less than lawful contacts he's made over the years to help Mael discover why the king is after his head before they lose whatever is growing between them.

Book Review

The honor of a thief is pitted against that of a soldier in this suspenseful, entertaining story that is set in a fantasy world populated with dark and other elves, orcs, mysterious cat beings, and a few humans. With a king who seems to be losing his mind, a conspiracy that means nobody is safe, and small criminals banding together to figure out what is going on, ‘Stealing His Warrior’s Heart’ is a tension-filled action/adventure. But it is also a highly erotic romance with two equally stubborn men from opposite ends of society in urgent need of figuring out why the law-abiding captain of the Royal Guard is suddenly hunted –in between some very naughty episodes whenever they can find the time.

Nix is a thief who is good at his job and makes no apologies for the need to steal – only from those who can afford it – to put food in his stomach. He did not grow up with a silver spoon in his mouth, but he has worked hard to perfect his craft. Stealing from a soldier who turns out to be the captain of the king’s Royal Guard was not Nix’s best idea, or so it seems at first.

Mael has worked hard to become a soldier and he is proud of having become the captain at a very young age. He is capable, loyal, and will not tolerate petty thievery, no matter how cute the little human is who steals from him. Except when Mael “punishes” Nix by getting frisky in a dark alley, and finds out he wants more. Then their second encounter ends with Mael almost being taken prisoner or even killed - he and Nix do not stay around long enough to find out what the soldiers’ orders were. He has no idea why, and now needs Nix’s help not just to hide and hopefully survive, but to find out who is after him and why.

Nix and Mael’s adventures sure kept me in suspense. The mystery is revealed bit by bit, but danger lurks at every corner and Nix needs to keep his wits about him if he wants to save Mael’s life. Mael is kept busy figuring out the rules of his new world, and it’s not easy. Honor, as it turns out, is in the eye of the beholder, and how you make a living depends entirely on what tools you have at your disposal. I loved how Mael’s rigid view of the world begins to change and mature, and how Nix uses his abilities to show Mael they can be useful in almost any situation.

If you like fantasy settings with intrigue, adventure, and imaginative characters, if you enjoy stories about men who start out at opposite ends of the morality scale only to be pulled toward the middle so they can live in peace, and if you’re looking for a read that is as entertaining as it is hot and kinky, then you will probably like this novella.
