Book Blurb

When Hunter Simms goes undercover at an underground BDSM party, the last thing he expects to see is SWAT’s leading shooter Keifer Magnessen bound, gagged, plugged and very bare. He is immediately drawn to Keifer, and wants to get to know his fellow cop better. Much better.

With such a high stress job, Keifer needs to give up control on his down time in order to decompress, but it’s a secret he holds close to his vest. So, when Hunter walks into his chosen place to submit, he tries to cut and run. Lucky for him, Hunter is shrewd, persistent and quite possibly just the Dom that Keifer needs.

Can these two strong men find a way to make their personal lives mesh?

Book Review

Two stubborn cops - one a SWAT sniper, the other a detective - trying to find a way to mesh their personal lives is tough enough. But with one of them a closet sub in dire need of attention and the other a pushy Dom? What a setup for a love story!

Hunter is a detective. He also happens to be a Dom, and a darned good one at that, so when the police need to check out allegations against an underground BDSM organization, he quickly volunteers. As someone involved in the lifestyle, even if only sporadically, at least he will be able to distinguish between what is play and what might be actual abuse. Pretending to be a new member, he manages to get in and, to his relief, it all looks legitimate. The last thing he expected, not that he ever thought about it, was to find fellow cop and ace sniper Keifer there—as a sub. Everyone warns Hunter that Keifer is a tough guy to handle, but Hunter likes a challenge. And so, armed with infinite patience and an understanding of the pressures that cause Keifer’s need, he sets out to be the best Dom Keifer ever had. In fact, he intends to become Keifer’s only Dom.

Keifer needs to be in control when he works, and he works more than is probably healthy. He is tense even when he isn’t on the job, and being a sniper (or his past) has taught him to be close to paranoid. The only way for him to relax is to give up control to someone else. But the way he has approached it so far, only using temporary Doms, he still maintains a level of control and never really lets go. All of that changes with Hunter. Keifer is not one to trust easily, so progress is slow. But step by step, scene by scene, he learns to trust, to appreciate the aftercare he never let himself have, and to like Hunter.

I don’t think anyone other than another cop could have achieved what Hunter did, but when Keifer finally learns to relax, it is a beautiful thing. They have obstacles to overcome like any other couple, and the road to full partnership is long and contains a few twists their life throws their way, but in the end, they both agree it was all worth it.

If you like stories about tough men who need to submit but have no idea how to really do it, if you enjoy watching two men travel the road of exploring what BDSM means for them, and if you’re looking for a read that is as emotional and hot as it is touching, then you will probably like this novel.
