Book Review

This is a super cute story about an established couple rediscovering the heat that used to be between them. It's easy to fall into a routine after ten years together, but Brad wants it to be different again. Hence, the "magical cupcakes" he makes with the help of a love potion, hoping to spice things up. And oh boy, do they get spiked up! Not even the dining room is safe…

Brad is deeply in love with Sandy but is feeling a little bored with their routine, not just in life (with certain days set aside for certain activities) but in the bedroom as well. I think he sums it up best when he tries to remember if he uncorked the wine before dinner to let it breathe – and can't recall if he did or didn’t. "He’d better check -- maybe he’d just thought he had. God knew he did it every Saturday -- it would be easy to totally be remembering another week." How sad is that?

But it doesn’t stay sad for long! Sandy comes home, they have dinner, and are barely done when Sandy initiates some very hot love play right there in the dining room. Then in the bedroom. And on Sunday morning… Brad is bowled over, and feeling the love between those two as they ramp up the heat was just the icing on the - cupcake. And the little twist at the end? As expected (or hoped for ) as it was, I totally loved it!

If you like sweet stories about established couples, if you enjoy reading about "special Christmas magic" bringing out the bets in two men who are deeply in love, and if you're looking for a Christmas-flavored read that is as hot as it is sweet, then you will probably like this short story.
