Book Blurb

Sam Crowe lives a quiet life. He's a freelance journalist and sometimes fiction writer. His world is turned upside down when love lands on his doorstep—literally, while cursing up a G-rated storm. Son of a fish, indeed. Casey Sanders doesn't know whether it’s good luck or bad when he slips and falls on the icy steps of his apartment building, but the hero who comes to his rescue is worth the discomfort.

Their attraction is instant, but Sam is certain Casey's flirtation and kind words are a result of the pain medication. But Casey is persistent and won't give up until he has what he wants. And what he wants is Sam.

A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2014 Daily Dose package "Mended".

Book Review

I enjoyed this swell little sweetmeat of a tale about two strangers finding romantic love in the space of twenty-four hours.

Sam Crowe is almost at his apartment when he hears a string of odd words uttered in a tone generally reserved for expletives. Rounding the corner he finds a shifting pile of debris, the odd leg and arm, and a pair of mesmerizing green eyes, all belong to his soon-to-be neighbor, Casey. The man has fallen on the ice whilst moving in his stuff. Sam’s offer to help Casey stand quickly turns into a full rescue mission. It appears Casey has sprained his ankle—he’ll never make the climb to his third floor apartment.

Ever the gentleman, Sam offers Casey temporary lodging at his own first floor apartment. Things heat up between the two men, but a further examination of Casey’s foot means a trip to the hospital. Later Sam helps a woozy Casey back to his apartment, where a heated kiss has Sam using all of his willpower to walk away, certain that Casey’s affectionate manner is drug induced. But is it?

I think this charming, well put together fantasy has a good a heat level, but is an excellent romance. Thank you, Kenzie Cade, this is my first read of your work…you made me want to read more.
