Book Blurb

Tyler Sly was born unable to conceive, and when you’re an omega, that’s a problem. When his brother convinces him to join him on a tour of the wine country, Tyler grudgingly agrees. But when he gets there, his brother is a no-show, and he discovers it's actually a singles tour.

Ronan Blade is just freshly divorced from his wife of two years, and he’s trying to get back into the dating scene. When he meets Tyler, something clicks inside for him. He’s drawn to the quiet omega and begins to spend all his time with Tyler.

Tyler is equally drawn to Ronan, and soon the two men are inseparable. Once the tour ends, the men decide to keep in contact. By now, Ronan is realizing his feelings toward Tyler are not simply those of a friend.

When Ronan comes clean to Tyler about his true feelings, the two men give in to their physical need. But Tyler doesn’t trust that an alpha like Ronan would want an omega like him.

It’s no wonder then, that when Ronan’s ex-wife shows up, her appearance sends Tyler into a tail spin of fear and doubt.

Book Review

Starring two men with hidden insecurities, people in their past who hurt them, and a totally unexpected attraction between them that neither has a clue what to do with, this story is a rather angst-filled, sometimes painful journey toward love. It all starts with a special tour of the Golden Valley wine country – one for singles, be they omegas or alphas. While Ronan, a recently divorced alpha, had planned to attend to get back in the dating game, Tyler, an infertile omega who has given up on ever having a family of his own, is definitely not interested and only came to spend time with his brother. When said brother ends up sick (due to a hangover of all things!), Tyler is unexpectedly alone. What looks like disaster for him turns out to be a blessing – but I am getting ahead of myself.

Tyler is drawn to Ronan from the start, but he is determined never to fall for a straight guy again. He has enough trouble with alphas who find out he can’t have children and run for the hills, he doesn’t need to be some man’s “gay experiment”. For the longest time that is what he thinks is happening as Ronan and he become close – because Tyler knows that Ronan is straight and he does not want to risk believing there is more. He has been disappointed often enough.

Ronan has finally divorced from a wife he never really loved and only got married to because his parents were pressuring him to settle down to have children. He feels an immediate attraction to Tyler, but suspects it is friendship he feels. Then he keeps telling him it must be friendship because he is not ready to admit that he may be bisexual. Ronan ends up going into full-fledged denial, but even that is not enough to make his feelings for Tyler go away.

Tyler and Ronan are clearly good with each other, they share an immediate, easy friendship. But they both deny the deeper attraction that soon begins to develop – Tyler because he is afraid of being hurt again and Ronan because he can’t even imagine being attracted to a man. The angst on both sides is palpable, and since neither man really talks about what is going on, their confusion and misunderstandings grow. It takes some pretty dramatic realizations and events that push them toward honesty for them to realize and admit what is happening. Even then, there are enough obstacles to almost destroy their chance at a happy ending.

If you like angst-filled romances with lots of drama, if you want to watch two men on their obstacle-ridden journey toward admitting they love each other, and if you’re looking for a tension-filled read with an unexpectedly happy ending, then you will probably like this novel.
