Shane's come a long way since he first joined Mitchell’s coalition. He never would have imagined that he’d end up with a mate, let alone a daughter. But he’s committed to his family and will do anything for them.
Trevor's biggest dream has always been to have an official wedding ceremony. Sure, he knows the other shifters will think it's silly, a ritual only for humans, but he can't stop himself from wanting a true fairy tale moment. Yet Trevor knows that Shane doesn’t want anything to do with the human world, especially since mankind has taken to hunting and killing shifters.
Shane wants to see Trevor happy. In fact, he made a promise to always keep his mate smiling. Will Shane be able to live up to his word? Or will Trevor's dream be shattered?
I was so incredibly excited when I discovered that Stephani Hecht was releasing a spin-off series to 'The Lost Shifters' titled 'Assassin's Loyalty' because I knew I'd be able to get glimpses of Shane—my very favorite character. Well, one can only imagine my level of excitement when I found out the author was writing a whole new series focusing on Shane! Oh my Goddess!
“Why does Mitchell even put up with you?”
“Because he adores me. I bring so much spice to the Coalition.”
Shane is crazy, mad, head-over-heels in love with his mate, Trevor, and the feeling is returned 100 percent. Since Trevor has always wanted a beautiful wedding and now they can legally do it, Shane has to figure out how to make it happen. I loved his proposal, it was so them, and Trevor was ecstatic that they were finally doing this. Ava, their adopted daughter, wasn't so thrilled initially as she didn't understand why her dads would want a human ceremony. Eh, she got over it.
I would have thought this was going to be fairly cut and dry but somehow Shane always manages to mangle something (or someone). He doesn't do it on purpose, which is probably why Trevor has so much patience with him, but Shane's current obsession about hunting down two shifters who are murdering their kind has left him unavailable to help with wedding planning and Trevor kind of wanted him involved.
This was a great beginning to a new series. I adored the wedding, even more so because Shane's brother, Toby, and his mate, Hale, got married too, right alongside Shane and Trevor. And, of course, Shane, with a little help from some assassins, got his two murderers. I'm so looking forward to the next book!
