To strengthen the Darkfall Mountain pack, Alpha Sergio Esteban must marry a she-wolf from the enemy pack. Too bad Sergio plays for the all-male team and is more interested in his bride-to-be’s half-blood brother, Ron. Sergio has always placed the needs of his pack before his own. But this time, he intends to claim his obsession, no matter the stakes.
As the weakest omega on the roster and the runt of the litter, Ron Silverback is used to being abused and kicked around. When Sergio unexpectedly shows interest, Ron finally has a way out. But choosing Sergio might mean making an enemy of his own family, and starting a war. Sergio’s love, a future, and his freedom…are three things Ron never envisioned having, but they’re something worth fighting for.
'Sergio's Obsession' is book three in the series and I was particularly intrigued to read this one. Sergio is the alpha for the Darkfall Mountain pack and considering it's a large and strong pack, I wanted a glimpse inside the man who makes it that way. Sergio and his siblings have made the town of Darkfall a haven for humans and wolves alike. The fact that Sergio’s love interest is an omega had me even more interested as I have a particular weakness for them considering they're usually treated rather poorly.
At the end of the previous book, hunters with the Order of the Knife had practically destroyed the town, hurting, injuring, and killing a number of humans and wolves. Sergio feels as if he's failed in his protection and he wants revenge, or at least a way to strengthen his pack. Sergio decides to accept the Silverback alpha's proposition of mating one of his she-wolves to make peace between their packs and Sergio would gain strength. Silverback prides itself on being all pure blood wolves, meaning they're born that way, not bitten.
When Sergio arrives and is faced with the young, timid, shy she-wolf he doesn't respond well. This angers Ron, Diana's half brother, and half-breed Omega who has spent years in the pack being bullied and abused. No matter, Ron has a few words to say to this alpha who dared to upset his sister. Unfortunately, one look into each other's eyes and they know they're fated mates. But Sergio can't risk starting a war with the Silverback pack and Ron knows nothing can come of it. Oh my. My heart was thudding. It felt like Romeo and Juliet except more Romeo and Romeo. *grins*
'Sergio's Obsession' has definitely become my favorite so far. I adored Ron with his attitude and his bravery. Sergio is super hot and the two of them make a wonderful team. Definitely a great addition to the series and it makes me want to jump right into book four.
