Oh boy could I appreciate and empathize with every single thing Deke was telling the radio listeners on the Monday following Thanksgiving. Deke and Dudley have a morning radio show but Dudley has only been there for ten months, so this is his first notice that his work partner despises the holidays. Deke hates that all the holiday decorating starts so early and the greediness of the people hawking their wares to unsuspecting parents, especially, and all the gross consumerism of the season. Yes, I completely agreed with Deke on this point.

Dudley, however, loves the holidays and everything about them. He's also crushing pretty heavily on his hirsute partner but knows that their morning "flirting" is just an act. That's okay, though, because Dudley is sure that his fans will come through with all the letters, videos, phone calls, and site comments, showing all the joy and happiness of the season, ensuring Dudley's win of the bet Deke presented. Because if they don't, he can't begin to imagine what kind of frightening date Deke would set him up on.

I hesitate to say it but I think 'Scrooged Over' falls into my top five of this year's Dreamspinner Press Advent Calendar. The characters are wonderful, the dialogue is engaging and energetic, and the love story was perfect. The whole read made me go "awwwww"!
