The holidays are looking anything but happy for Evan, whose partner skipped out and left him struggling to hold on to his suburban home. Up the street, an equally hard-working Sam is also hustling to hang onto his piece of real estate. Neither has met the other until neighborly Evan offers a desperate Sam—a scantily clad Santa—a ride to his late-night stripping gig on Christmas Eve. Can this one-off adventure turn into a mortgage love affair, or will they both be left with a sock full of coal come Christmas Day?

A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2013 Advent Calendar package "Heartwarming".

Book Review

I enjoyed this spunky little short, which took an improbable plot and transformed it into a stimulating comedic storyline. It was a fun read and I believe that is pretty much what a holiday story should be, a fun, exciting holiday from the norm.

Overwrought with personal problems, Evan is not the happiest of campers as he makes his way home through the icy streets of his festively lit up neighborhood. His partner left him to foot the bills for his only true possession, his home, and a poor economical environment leaves him no choice but to stay in a dead-end job which he hates. Startled by the sight of a dreamboat hunk in a barely there Santa outfit at the side of the road, Evan realizes he’s seen the guy around the neighborhood, concludes Santa has car trouble, and offers assistance. When his offer is accepted, Evan’s heretofore dismal holiday season gets brighter, but he has no idea of just how much assistance he’ll be providing before the night ends.

The events that follow swiftly mount and overwhelm Evan’s sensible reservations as lust, excitement, and holiday spirits sweep him into a series of outlandish activities that resulted in much laughter from me. This is a fast, “whoop ‘em up” roller coaster ride of a Santa story and I had no options but to hang on and go for the fun-filled ride…laughing all the way. Ho, ho, ho.

Thank you, Troy Storm, for this swift, sweet, entertaining holiday tale that proves you can never push the envelope too far. “Witty, Hot, Fun”
