Book Blurb

Almost two years ago Tristan was claimed by his inner circle… No one would have guessed that such an insignificant event would be the catalyst to change everything.

Worried about the consequences of Boston last month, the Omegas get together to come up with a plan B. Sounds like the perfect excuse for a romantic escape. They could all use a break, and since most of them have never had a vacation, they’re all looking forward to it.

And then they realize how silly that was. Nothing ever goes according to plan and their lives are always full of chaos. Why would their vacation be any different? With all the added outside pressure now and trying to juggle the feelings of four people in each mating, fights are breaking out. Will some of them return home no longer mated or will love win out? And what’s the big holiday surprise?

Note: This book is written in first-person point of view.

Book Review

This ninth book in the series does a great job at summarizing, in a way, what has happened so far. All of the characters from previous books are back, and that creates enough drama to fill more than one volume! One Omega on his own is usually enough to fulfill anyone's need for drama and the occasional tantrum. But eight mated ones and three unattached men? That is a very volatile combination. You have been warned! But it also sets up the continuation of the larger story, with some tantalizing hints at what the Omegas and their mates might face next. One thing is certain: it won't get any easier!

Just like in real life, the relationships of some of the Omegas and their inner circles go through a crisis in the first third of the book. All they want to do is celebrate Valentine's Day in grand style, but somehow that brings up quite a few issues. They may seem nonsensical to the uninvolved onlooker, but I can see how the stress they have all been under (escaping their old lives and abuse, making sure corrupt council members don’t get them, building new lives) contributes to an emotional breakdown. Not to mention the fact that some of these guys were extremely emotional to begin with.

Luckily, some of them as well as some of the alphas and betas keep a cool head, and, after some tearful and angry venting, they slowly begin to work on rebuilding their relationships into something stronger. A huge part of what they learn to do is communicate better, something we all know is essential – and yet it is so often forgotten. As they come out of their crisis, a roper celebration of Valentine's Day takes place and plans for the future are made. I have to say, I look forward to this next stage of their story! The tropical island they find themselves on sounds heavenly, as does the large mansion. The cliffhanger, as ever, left me impatient to find out what is next.

If you like drama, and a crisis before the happy end, if you want to know how all of the previous Omegas are doing and what they're up to next, and if you enjoy reading about relationships strengthening and finding new, stronger foundations, then you will probably enjoy this book.
