Book Blurb

Linus has been having extremely vivid, very erotic dreams of his life as a slave during Roman times. In fact, his dreams are becoming so real he sometimes has trouble distinguishing them from reality. When he begins to notice people and places from his surroundings appearing in his dreams, he figures his brain has just filled in the details, but then he meets his dream master Markus at the library where he works. He’s never met the man before in his life, but Professor Mark is very real and Linus likes him so much more than the Markus in his dreams. Will he be able to keep his dream man and the real one separate?

Book Review

Vivid dreams can be fun, or they can turn into complete nightmares. But when they start interfering with real life, as in Linus's case, they can become confusing and even dangerous. Initially that danger came from Linus enjoying his dreams too much to want to have a "real" life, and as the situation changed, they confused and even scared him.

Linus is a librarian who loves researching new things. He also has a lot of imagination and puts the facts and details he works with on his job to good use when he sleeps. The fact that explored being a roman master's slave was fascinating (both to him and to me), because it was a situation so different from his actual life. I think he got a little carried away with it all, but when he meets Mark that changes. Reality is now more attractive than the dream, but Linus keeps coming back to his dream lover as well. Very entertaining and not a little spooky!

Mark is a professor who makes use of the library and a wonderful man. He is very different from Linus's dream man, in many ways the "modern version" of the ancient Roman. His interest in Linus may be the same, but he is a true partner. I loved how they both turned out to be into XBox games and did a lot of things together.

If you like short, hot reads with a bit of a twist, if you enjoy characters "just clicking" as they become friends and lovers, and if you're looking for a story with a sense of foreboding as well as adventure, you will probably like this short book.
