Book Review

Reunions are fascinating opportunities to revisit the past. Well, not in a time-travel sort of way, of course, but seeing the people you went to high school with helps to recapture the memories and feelings of the past. Both good and bad, of course. And this story about Headon, a farmer’s son, and Evan, the mayor’s son, does a good job of showing both – plus it has the added benefit of offering a second chance to both men.

Headon almost doesn’t make it to the reunion, His father beat him up and kicked him out after he caught Headon and Evan about to become physical, and Headon has no interest in seeing him again. He also doesn’t really want to see his class mates again, but he is too curious to find out more about Evan to stay away.

Evan is as curious as Headon, and was never able to forget him either. While he got beaten by his father as well, at least his parents still paid for his college tuition. Now Evan may be a big-shot lawyer, but he isn’t happy. He, too, is looking for closure, but what he finds is so much more…

If you like stories about second chances, if you enjoy reunions, or rather, the things they can lead to, and if you prefer your romances fast and hot, hen you will probably enjoy this short story.
