Book Review

The fourth installment of Elijah's adventure in the world of DungeonCrawl brings new revelations, complications, and a deepening relationship with Sarin. Elijah may have started playing this as a computer-based adventure game here on Earth, but now that he is truly participating, things have changed for him. King Mirov is still evil and up to no good, Elijah and Sarin have come up with a hare-brained plan to find out more, and a new character surprises everyone.

Elijah is now so firmly established in his new reality that he no longer really thinks about where he came from. His clever plan to get close to the king by pretending to be a mercenary backfires when King Mirov demands Elijah capture one of Laenasse's priests so he can be tortured for information. Elijah has grown fiercely protective of his lover, Sarin, and refuses to stand by and let him risk everything.

Sarin trusts his goddess, and after asking her for protection, he goes ahead with his idiotic idea of handing himself over to the king so Elijah's cover remains intact. Yeah, not his best idea, and unsurprisingly, it doesn’t work as intended. Now they'll have to come up with something else, because the king has sworn to kill all the priests he can find.

If you’re into action/adventures of the slightly fantastical kind, if you want to see how Elijah and Sarin deal with the newest evil plans from their opponent, and if you’re looking for a read full of tension, action, and hot loving, then you might enjoy this fourth volume of the “what happens when a computer game comes to life” series.
