Book Blurb

Scott Rivers has lived with the werewolves of the forest for a couple of years, happy with his mate, even though Tybalt tends to be the grumpy type. After a kidnapping that nearly kills him, all of those happy memories are gone. The only memory Scott has of his mate is the first time they met... when Tybalt kidnapped him.

This puts them back to square one. Scott is scared of his mate, and angry that he desires the man so desperately because of their mating, and Tybalt is torn and in anguish. His mate fears him, and won't touch him until the desire becomes nearly unbearable.

Tybalt used to live as a wild wolf before he met Scott. Scott tamed him, turning him into the man he is today. Now he has a chance to redo everything. Tybalt will do everything in his power to ensure that Scott falls in love with him again, the right way this time.

Book Review

This fourth book of the “Not-So-Lone Wolf’ series focuses on Scott and Tybalt. They appear in the first three books as a happily mated, if somewhat mysterious, couple. At the end of the previous volume Scott is captured and left for dead before he is shot at. Apparently he has lost his memory, and is now as scared of the wolves and the pack as when he was first kidnapped. Tybalt is desperate to get him to remember, but will not force anything. As they gradually figure out how to live together, they both learn things about their relationship they didn’t know before, making this an emotional and tension-filled story.

Scott is one of three humans living with the pack in the forest, and he is told he was the first to make the move. Or rather the first human to have been kidnapped by a wolf desperate for his mate. The problem is that he can’t remember a thing, and everything, including his mate, scares him. This provides an interesting opportunity for him to assess why he is there (the draw toward his mate is irresistible), and to get used to his “new” life in a more gradual and less life-threatening way than the first time. When his memories eventually do begin to surface, I was fascinated to see the full extent of what had happened to him.

Tybalt is close to losing his mind. He feels guilty for having let Scott suffer, and he wants him back as soon as possible. But since he wasn’t very nice the first time around (through ignorance only), he is even more determined to let Scott set the pace this time. It is an interesting exercise in restraint for him and his wolf, and the way he handles things tells Scott a lot about the kind of man he is. Giving up much of his wolf side is a small sacrifice to make when he knows his mate needs him, but it isn’t easy!

If you like your werewolves to be on the wild side, if lost memories and the way couples deal with them fascinate you, and if you’re looking for a read that is as emotional and hot as it is tension-filled, then you will probably enjoy this novella.
