Book Blurb

The battle to protect the Lycans from a vindictive Goddess waits on the horizon.

Tristan, Ushna, and Brian have meticulously prepared for the day they face Inanna and Marduk, but they must rely on their inner circle if they are to win the day. Ushna needs to embrace his destiny and be transformed by Tiamat. But he returns with a mind fractured by a primordial god’s consciousness and needs a firebird’s help, or he’ll be lost. If he is, so too is the balance Brian and Tristan sorely need.

Tristan has vowed to care for his ex-Flame who is doomed to forget more and more with each use of his new ability. Adding to his burden, Tristan must free the warriors stolen by the government and devise a trap for Inanna.

Brian fears nothing more than losing Ushna and Tristan again. To prevent that fate, he recklessly devises a preemptive strike, but his actions might not only cost him his life, but Stan’s as well.

As for the inner circle…

With them, Tristan might be victorious. Without them, Tristan will fail and the Lycans will fall to Inanna, who is determined to release a long-forgotten chaos monster and bring about the end of the world.

Book Review

The sixth and final volume of the epic ‘Sumeria’s Sons’ series is truly a grand finale for Tristan, Ushna, and Brian, trying to survive in this paranormal world that successfully blends Sumerian legends and werewolf lore into the fascinating tapestry of a unique world. All three men have suffered, gained new abilities, and fundamentally changed since the first book. Their history has been fully revealed, and their relationship has been redefined. They finally get to confront the gods Inanna and Marduk, and they know the battle will not be easy. The result is an action-packed, super suspenseful, and surprising story full of cunning plans, clever diversions, and desperate deeds. ‘Releasing Chaos’ has more than one twist and turn, shifting alliances around every corner, and is as intense as I expected. Truly impressive!

The various subplots come to satisfying ends, neatly tying up what happens to the many, many characters who have accompanied and/or opposed Tristan, Ushna, and Brian over the years. There are too many to name - you’ll just have to read the series for yourself and yes, it absolutely needs to be read in order. But all my favorite secondary characters played a role and got the endings they deserved, good or bad depending on their allegiances.

The various locations in this imaginative world are as brilliantly described as ever and the author made me feel as if I were right there more than once. And while I expected the battle, I was surprised by the ending and its various consequences. The author took this a lot further than I expected and showed how truly excellent worldbuilding can make an epic story even more enjoyable. Just – wow!

If you think you are ready for the final battle in this world of legends and paranormal lore, if you enjoy intense love stories that intermingle with intrigue, dark plans, and battles for the survival of entire species, and if you're impatient to find out how Tristan, Ushna, and Brian deal with the final stages of the challenge that has been coming for millennia, then you will probably love this novel as much as I do. It’s a worthy conclusion to the series, and excellent entertainment at the same time!
