Quinn Delaney has never had much luck with men. Shy and uncomfortable with his height, he's always tried to blend in rather than stand out. When his former foster sister and best friend cons him into going on a singles' trip to Walt Disney World, Quinn is certain he will be miserable. Then he meets Josh.
Being dumped by his high-maintenance boyfriend a couple of weeks before a trip to Disney World isn't what Josh Hart had planned, but he's determined not to let it get him down. Rebooked on a singles' trip, Josh intends to make the most of his first trip to an amusement park. On the first day, he meets shy, sexy Quinn, but the man is clueless about his own appeal.
If Quinn wants to catch the man of his dreams, he'll have to be willing to risk the one thing he's never put on the line before—his heart.
It's so nice to know that there are books I can come to when I've had it with angst and drama. When my emotions need a little downtime, I can fall into a sweet, fun, easy read that makes me happy and leaves me feeling good. That, in a nutshell, is 'Quinn's Hart' by Cassandra Gold. The story of one man who has spent his whole life with a very poor self-image, and the man who looks inside him and finds what he's been waiting for.
At six foot seven inches, and two hundred and fifty muscled pounds, Quinn isn't small. He's spent his whole life being judged based on his size, and, frankly, the world isn't designed for anyone except average-sized people. Of course, in his eyes, Quinn doesn't think his face is all that great, or his personality, and he's very shy. So, why is he on a singles trip to Disney World? Because his best friend, Stephanie, a travel agent, convinced him it would be good for him and maybe he'd finally meet Mr. Right. At thirty-six, Quinn is fairly certain that isn't going to happen. Luck is on his side, though, when he meets Josh.
Josh is thirty-one, a pediatrician, and has always wanted to come to Disney World. When his boyfriend breaks up with him, on the answering machine no less, his lovely travel agent manages to rearrange the plans Josh and his ex had, and get Josh onto the singles trip. On the first full day of the trip at the Magic Kingdom, Josh realizes that first impressions aren't always accurate. Sure, Quinn is shy and quiet, but when Josh spends time with him one-on-one Josh finds him to be funny, sweet, and when he smiles it lights up his face. Josh finds Quinn more and more attractive as the day goes on. Quinn, on the other hand, can't figure out why this gorgeous guy wants to spend time with him.
This book was exactly what I needed tonight. Quinn is impossible not to love. He's a gentle giant who's gotten a bum rap from life throughout his childhood and he still struggles with some of it. Josh is adorable and the very best kind of guy—the kind who looks beyond the surface for the real person hiding within. They had the best week vacation and falling in love was a bonus for both. This will be on my reread shelf because sometimes I just need gentle, sweet, and sexy, and Quinn and Josh are definitely that.
