What happens when Landscape Architect, Devon, meets his sexy new neighbor, ballet dancer, Sebastian? Can one night of pretend romance on Valentine's Day really lead to a lifetime of love?

Book Review

There is something special about a pretense that turns out to be real – at least I think so, especially in the case of pretend relationships. In this story, Devon wants his new neighbor from the start even though he thought he was straight, but Sebastian has a few emotional obstacles to deal with before he can admit that Devon is the man he wants. With an adorable dog as part of the cast, an evil, possessive ex in the mix, and a Valentine’s benefit that seems to bring out the worst in some people, this novella turned out to be very entertaining.

Devon is a landscape architect who has always assumed he is straight, but then he comes to the rescue of his new neighbor one day and everything changes. It may be the need to protect Sebastian from a very aggressive ex that drives Devon at first, but it’s Sebastian’s charm and stubborn will to stand up for himself that wins Devon over.

Sebastian has been through a lot. An attack resulted in a physical injury that killed his professional ballet career, his ex tries to abuse him even after they split up, and Sebastian is not having an easy time making his heart listen to his brain. As he has found out, wanting out of his toxic relationship with Dick (who is married but never told Sebastian) and actually convincing himself there is no hope are two very different things.

If you like romances that are as fast as they are hot, if you think that love is more about the person than their gender, and if you’re looking for an entertaining read with a bit of drama, some fun secondary characters, and a new relationship that quickly grows into more, then you might like this novella.
