Forced to return to a place of childhood trauma, Cameron Russell fears he’ll have to confront the specter of the past once again. Instead, he comes face to face with the man of his dreams. Literally.

Unbeknownst to Cameron, Gabriel Dyson would do anything to help his human mate realize his destiny, including playing savior and invading Cameron’s dreams. When they finally meet face to face, all seems to go well. Then a member of the Helldorado Mongrels MC kidnaps Cameron, putting him in mortal danger again.

While restrained, Cameron is told a fantastical story of werewolves, which has to be myth…right? Yet memories flare to life—visions of bites and kisses—making him question everything about Gabe.

Can Cameron and Gabe’s cosmic connection, their choices, and their love surpass the secrets Gabe has and the Mongrels’ evil plans?

Book Review

I would wager to bet that just about every person alive can think of a memory from when they were younger where something, or someone, really frightened them. That's the story for Cameron and his brother, Jarrod. Fifteen years before, on an exciting camping trip with their parents, the two brothers decided to go against the advice of the tour guide, and snuck out one night to go explore an old mine rumored to be haunted and thick with hellhounds. Neither brother has ever forgotten what happened that night so Cameron isn't thrilled when Jarrod tricks him into returning so they can face their fears.

Gabriel Dyson is a Tabu wolf shifter, cousin to Shinan wolf shifter, Inferno, the leader of the MC. Inferno hates his cousin and wants nothing more than to destroy him. Inferno resents the fact that Gabriel and his sister, Emma, were not cursed as he and his MC were. Since Cameron is returning to the canyon, Inferno knows that Gabriel will be there to see his human mate, and Inferno can get his revenge. Gabriel and Emma have their own bone to pick with their cousin as he stole their inheritance years ago and hid it somewhere in the area.

Cameron can't believe the gorgeous man he saw all those years ago is here on the camping expedition. The same man he has seen in his dreams for fifteen years. I'll admit to being rather skeptical over how quickly Cameron accepted this is the same man, and then jumps right into sex with him. Granted, it was kind of hot, but fairly unrealistic, in my opinion. Of course, then Cameron gets kidnapped, Gabriel rides to the rescue, and Cameron learns a whole lot about the paranormal world, and his mate.

I really would have liked more world building and there were some definite eye-roll moments, but overall this was a good beginning to a new series. If you enjoy shifters and non-traditional lore, then you definitely might like this easy and entertaining read.
