The Samhain superpod is over, but Sean Morita isn’t convinced Erik’s dead. Sean and Emery Nadel are settling into their new home for their first Christmas together, and Sean wants to make it a great one. It should be a happy occasion, but then tragedy strikes another pod, changing their own lives forever.
Emery won’t publicly admit his doubts that Erik’s gone for good. For the time being, he wants to focus on his new responsibilities as the Placida Pod’s Alpha. But how will he and Sean handle the toughest challenge of all—parenthood?
The past returns in an unexpected way, testing the strength of the extended Nadel family and bringing the pod and friends together like never before. Now it’s left to Sean to dig deep inside himself and stand alone to protect everything he holds dear in a desperate showdown that will either rip them apart forever, or finally bring them peace and healing.
Wow, Tymber, you really know how to go all out, don't you? 'Porpoisefully Yours' is book four in the 'Placida Pod' series, and the author hit the ground running on page one. This book picks up immediately following the events of the previous installment, and I always like it when an author sticks to a timeline. I was very interested to see what the author had in store for Emery, Sean, and the rest of the gang.
Well, it turns out their biggest adventure is insta-parenthood. Emery and Sean become the adoptive fathers to an almost three-year-old, very precocious little girl named Isla. Her parents were accidentally caught in a fisherman's net, and killed. Luckily for Emery and Sean, they have family and friends, all willing to help out when needed. And, no matter how happy it is to become parents, it was still very sad to think about the circumstances. Isla certainly brings a whole new level of entertainment to their world.
Now, I knew perfectly well that Erik still wasn't dead. Much like Sean and Emery, I just had a bad feeling. What I was hoping for was the author running Erik to ground, in the best possible way. I also really wanted Sean to step up to the plate, and handle some of the nastiness that Erik has brought to their lives. Erik, in all his cunning, latches on to a reporter who has been making waves talking about "wolfmen", and other shifters. Well, Erik has absolutely nothing to lose, so he might as well spill some secrets, and do as much damage as possible.
I'd like to say that Erik was thwarted before he was able to harm anyone, but that wasn't the case. Sean, however, found his inner strength, and was able to finally be the alpha mate which Emery and the pod needed him to be. Unfortunately, there will always be dangers within the shifter community, so Sean, Emery, and the kids will always have to be careful.
I have no idea whether this is the end of the 'Placida Pod' series, but if not, I'll certainly look forward to more. Thank you, Tymber, it's been a heck of a ride.
