Book Blurb

College running back, Trent Harte, has been living with his lovers, AJ Barnes and Brock Everett, for two years. Caught in a compromising position, rumors abound. It's hard enough to be an openly gay football player, but gossip and snide comments only add to his stress. Threats against his partners causes Trent to wonder if he should step back from the relationship.

AJ and Brock know there is something wrong when Trent begins to pull away. A call from Trent's father only adds to his distress. AJ and Brock refuse to let him shoulder the responsibility alone and they call for help. Will Trent find the strength to withstand the pressure and hold on to those he loves? Or will AJ and Brock be too late to convince Trent that they are playing for keeps?

Book Review

Just like in a partnership, each man needs to understand the role he plays and how he relates to his "better half", for me, in a ménage, each of the three men needs to contribute to the triad, so the whole is balanced. Why else would you go through the trouble of trying to make three men "fit"? Well, yes, there is the "kink factor", but with all the potential pitfalls of a three-way relationship, that alone does not necessarily guarantee long-term success. In the case of football player Trent, sports reporter Brock, and calm ex-Marine AJ, who have been living as a triad for two years when rumors threaten their careers, it was clear to me how all three men were needed to make a relationship work, and how each contributed to the whole. I loved how they relate to each other, how deeply they are in love, and how they really are into making their somewhat unconventional situation work. As far as I am concerned, this is definitely a great ménage story!

Trent is the man under most of the visible pressure, both external (since he wants to get recruited by the NFL), and from his domineering father. That stress is ultimately what brings things to a head. Brock wants to become a sports reporter, and he'll have to face prejudice as well, once he applies for a job, but the situation is less immediately urgent for him. AJ worries about both of them, but is determined to support them and figure out a way to make it work.

One thing is clear: hiding is not the answer in their case. I loved how Brock and AJ figured out what to do then raced to Brent's side. I cheered them on every step of the way. If you like threesome relationships that go deeper than the purely physical, if you enjoy stories about men who clearly love each other and give the support each man needs and when he requires it, and if you're looking for all that and would like it to be a hot and passionate tale as well, then you will probably enjoy this free short story.
