Book Blurb

It takes a strong man to submit to another's control, and a good Dom wields his power with care.

Captain Drew Atkins, a battle-hardened warrior, is ready for the ultimate test of his strength and courage - submitting himself to another man's control. Luc DuBois is the consummate Dom, the perfect man to initiate Drew in the twin delights of pleasure and pain. One night in a dungeon taxes them both.

Drew isn't sure he can yield up control or take the pain his body craves. The allure of this new submissive drives Luc to the edge of his control. Luc introduces Drew to the awesome effects of pain and the bliss of leaving the decisions up to someone else. The tension of Drew's career washes away with each stroke of the flogger. He is more than willing to give Luc whatever he demands.

Luc admires Drew's strength, is humbled by his trust and takes only what he knows the other man can give. As he plays with the soldier's body, Luc also knows one night will not be enough.

Reader Advisory: This story contains scenes of serious bondage, discipline and sado-masochism.

Book Review

The first meeting between a Dom and a new sub, especially someone who has never submitted before, can carry an interesting mix of fear and excitement. Fear of failure, for both the Dom and the sub, and excitement about the potential payoff. One, as in this case, that may last far beyond just that first night. This story does a great job of showing both sides, adding all the emotions swirling between the two men while they play like a “cherry on top of the sundae”.

Drew is used to being in command. Much of his training and experience as a soldier has been about teaching him how to stay in command. And yet, there is a part in him that longs to give up control, even if only in the bedroom, and to let him relax. When he finally does act on his desire, he approaches the “mission” with military precision and does lots of research to make sure he knows who he submits to. I am glad he did that, too many people risk taking that step without the proper preparation.

Luc is a Dom with a reputation to maintain, and is very good at what he does. He is also tired of playing with different men each time. It sounded to me as though he was only looking for an “excuse” to give up his wandering lifestyle. When Drew fulfills his every fantasy he is more than enthusiastic and ready to explore what they have in earnest.

These two men have never met in real life, yet the basic foundation of trust they have built via e-mails serves them well. Drew’s hard-won courage to follow his desires, and Luc’s careful guidance and hard-fought control were convincing and added a nice flavor to this simple story of a first encounter.

If you like reading about first encounters with BDSM, if a strong man submitting to an even stronger guy for the first time sounds interesting, and if serious bondage and discipline (all extremely consensual) is what you’re looking for, you may like this short story.
